On Oct. 13, Arline “Cinny” Mirantz left this Earth to be with her beloved husband, Matt.

Cinny was born in New York City in 1927 to Lionel and Betty Cinnamon and grew up in the Big Apple. After high school, she headed north to Ithaca, N.Y. where she attended Cornell and met the love of her life, Matt. The two embarked upon their lives and landed in Peekskill, where they raised their children, Ellen, Michael and David.

Cinny went back to school and obtained her degree in elementary education and retired as a third-grade teacher for the Lakeland School District in 1987. Upon retirement, Matt and Cinny found their slice of paradise in Islamorada in the Florida Keys and spent many special years there making new friends and loving life.

In addition to her husband, Matt, and her parents, Cinny was predeceased by her granddaughter Katie. Cinny is survived by her children, Ellen and Michael Heelan, Michael and Mary Mirantz and David and Margaret Mirantz; by her grandchildren, Michael Heelan, Kevin Heelan and Daniel Mirantz; and a circle of love that includes Mark Hendrickson, Alyssa Rodolico, Justine Rodolico, Nicole Josephy, Diana Rodolico, Erik Wilson and Christopher Wilson and their families.

A special thank you to Jackie and Mita who showed nothing but love and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at the family’s convenience. Anyone wishing to remember Cinny may do so by contributing to Save Alligator Lighthouse at www.savealligatorhouse.org.
