Alleged Abducted Peekskill Resident Located With Injuries
Yorktown Police reported Wednesday night that a Peekskill resident who had allegedly been abducted from the Jefferson Valley Mall parking lot earlier in the day had been located at his Peekskill residence with non-life threatening injuries.
Police Chief Daniel McMahon stated at about 3:10 p.m. police received a report from a female Peekskill resident who said she feared for the safety of her brother, Robert Jeter, who had been receiving threatening text messages for about a week. The caller said she was speaking to Jeter a few minutes earlier and he said he was being followed by two individuals in the parking lot.
A patrol unit was dispatched to the mall and located Jeter’s vehicle unoccupied in a truck loading dock. The location and condition of Jeter’s vehicle had indications of foul play.
Jeter was receiving medical treatment for his injuries at a local hospital and was expected to be released. Police reported the incident was not a random act and they are continuing to investigate with the assistance of Peekskill Police.
