Tuesdays at Dorry’s: Sheila Dauer is the founder of Amnesty International USA’s Women’s Human Rights Program, and was its director during the program’s entire existence from 1997 to 2008. She was on the staff of AIUSA for nearly 30 years, from 1979 to 2008. Sheila prepared AI’s first international report on women’s human rights, Women in the Front Line, in 1991. Tuesdays at Dorry’s gathers “conversation partners” weekly for informal table talk, and sometimes we hear live music. There is no charge. Somers Resident Exhibit:  An exhibit of the photographs of Somers resident Joe Carbone is being held this month at the Somers Library, 82 Primrose St. Carbone has been taking photos for 40 years. Info: somersartgallery@wlsmail.com.

Temple Book Club: The Temple Beth Shalom Book Club will discuss “Something Red” by Jennifer Gilmore at 7:30 p.m. at the synagogue, 760 Route 6, at the corner of Croton Falls Road, Mahopac. Admission is free. Info: 845-628-6133.

Jewish Center Programs: The Yorktown Jewish Center, 2966 Crompond Rd., is holding a series of programs. Maimonidean Thought (Topics in Mishneh Torah) is held on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Understanding Hebrew Prayer is held from Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. (through May 31).  Also on Mondays, Conversational Hebrew is held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. (through May 31). Talmud and the Law is held on Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (through May 31). Lunch ‘N Learn (about topics of Jewish interest) is held on Saturdays from, after Sabbath services, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (through June 30).
