Two Women Stabbed in White Plains
Two 18-year-old White Plains women were stabbed with box-cutters Monday night during a fight at a bus stop near Mamaroneck and Martine Avenue in the city, police said. An 18-year-old Thornwood woman has been arrested, while one of the two victims remains hospitalized.
Early Monday evening, Christina Hernandez was confronted by two women at the bus stop and a fight ensued, police said. One woman suffered a serious wound that required emergency surgery while the other suffered a less serious injury and was treated and released from White Plains Hospital.
Police were called around 7 p.m. and identified Hernandez through eyewitness accounts. She was located in the area of 325 Mamaroneck Avenue and arrested for first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The fight was part of an ongoing dispute going back to high school, according to police. The names of the two victims have not been released.
