County Police/Mount Kisco

July 6: A 36-year-old village resident was charged at 12:02 a.m. with DWI, a misdemeanor, after an officer observed his vehicle being driven erratically on North Bedford Road near the Bedford town line. The man was also issued summonses for speeding and making unsafe lane changes. He was booked at county police headquarters in Hawthorne and released pending an appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.

July 6: A 22-year-old Bedford Hills man was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, at 7:32 p.m. following a traffic stop on Moore Avenue at Spring Street. He was taken into custody after a small quantity of illegal narcotics was found in his car. He was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending a future appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.

July 7: A Lenox Place resident arrived at the Green Street precinct at 3:53 p.m. to report that he had been robbed of $500 during the overnight hours. The man said he was walking on the 200 block of Main Street at 1:30 a.m. when two men pushed him up against a wall. When he refused to give the assailants his wallet, he reported that one of the men used a sharp object to scratch him around one of his knees to make him comply. The wallet also contained four credit cards and personal identification. The case was turned over to detectives for investigation.

New Castle Police Department

July 5: Police responded to a local parking lot on a report of a larceny from a vehicle. An unknown individual broke off the Jaguar emblem from the front of a vehicle.

July 6: Report of a domestic dispute between a father and son at a Mount Kisco residence. Subsequent to an investigation at the scene, the father was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child. The subject was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

July 8: Report of a larceny at a local business. A male loaded a grill onto the rear of his truck without purchasing the item. The investigation is ongoing.

July 11: Police responded to a Chappaqua residence on a report of a stolen vehicle. The owner reported the vehicle was left unlocked in the driveway and was taken during the overnight hours. Detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation.

North Castle Police Department

July 5: A complainant reported at 6:55 a.m. that employees at The Summit Club at Armonk on Bedford Road are conducting lawn maintenance prior to the time that it is allowed under the town ordinance. The responding officer reported that the noise condition is unfounded; no workers were at the scene.

July 5: A Fox Ridge Road resident arrived at headquarters at 1:18 p.m. to report several fraudulent checks were cashed in their name and money was withdrawn from their bank account.

July 8: An Orchard Drive resident reported at 10:06 p.m. that an animal has apparently gotten inside her home. The responding officer reported that he secured a beaver from inside the residence and was releasing it into a nearby wooded area.

July 10: Report of a dumpster fire on Stony Brook Place at 4:12 p.m. The responding officer reported that the fire was extinguished by the Armonk Fire Department. There was no damage sustained to any property at the location.

Pleasantville Police Department

July 5: Report of trespassing at a property on Saratoga Avenue at 9:11 a.m. After police responded, it was determined that the matter was a dispute between two neighbors in connection to one of the property owners doing construction.

July 10: Report of an incident of fraud at 5:13 p.m. No further information was available because the matter is under investigation.

Putnam County Sheriff’s Department

July 10: Two Bronx residents were charged with stealing mail from residential mailboxes in the Continental Village area of Philipstown at 12:20 p.m. A resident reported that they witnessed an unknown subject take mail from their mailbox on Steuben Road and described the subject and the vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to the area and observed the suspect vehicle, made a traffic stop and saw numerous pieces of mail inside the vehicle. The suspects, both 22, were arrested on a variety of charges, including criminal possession of stolen property, criminal impersonation, unlawful possession of personal identification and petty larceny. They were issued appearance tickets for the Town of Philipstown Court at a future date.

Yorktown Police Department

July 7: A 40-year-old Poughkeepsie man was arrested at 10:30 a.m. and charged with speeding and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, after being pulled over on Route 6 near Hill Boulevard. A DMV check revealed the vehicle’s registration and the suspect’s driving privileges had been suspended.

July 11: A 54-year-old Shrub Oak man was charged with third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor, following a report of a fight in progress at 4:05 p.m. Following an investigation, the suspect allegedly punched the victim in the head multiple times following a verbal dispute.
