A 16-year-old girl was hospitalized Sunday with what police are characterizing as serious injuries after being hit by a car in Armonk.
Police found the Armonk teen lying in the roadway about 90 feet south of the intersection of Main Street and Bedford Road at about 4:24 p.m. on Sunday. After aid was provided by North Castle Police and members of the Armonk Fire Department, the girl was brought to the Westchester Medical Center. More information about the nature of the injuries have not yet been released. The police closed Main Street for several hours as the investigation took place.
The 67-year-old driver of the car who hit the teenage pedestrian remained on the scene of the accident, cooperating with the police investigation, and no charges have been filed against the Armonk resident. The investigation is ongoing.
A GoFundMe page has already been created to help support the family. As of Tuesday morning, $24,898 had been raised, with a goal to raise $75,000.
The page describes the teen as being in stable but critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Westchester Medical Center.
