Armonk’s St. Stephen’s to Present ‘Stories in the Stones’ Cemetery Tour on Saturday

We are part of The Trust Project
St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church will hold its second annual Stories in the Stones tour of its cemetery grounds Saturday afternoon starting at 4 p.m.

St. Stephen’s Church in Armonk is offering its second annual dramatized cemetery tour this Saturday with local actors telling the stories of 12 of the individuals interred in the historic St. Stephen’s Cemetery.

Featuring a new set of stories for this year, you can hear about the extraordinary lives of ordinary people, from Civil War veterans to those who’ve been interred the last few years.

Among the stories this year is that of Nehemiah Searles, a pillar of mid-Victorian Armonk. An insurance salesman, he used his community connections and his kindness to help out many destitute local families. Also, learn about David Grove, who died in 2016. A leading figure in 20th century commerce, he was chief economist of Bank of America and then for IBM. He was also a world authority on orchids.

The production is directed by Dakota Martin. She holds a BFA in musical theater from Manhattanville College and actively performs throughout Westchester, most recently as Emily in Our Town for the Armonk Players and Urleen in ACT’s production of Footloose.

Choose from three performances – 4, 4:30 and 5 p.m. Each performance will last about 50 minutes. Tickets include cookies and hot apple cider. Bring the entire family for this fun, educational and poignant window into the fascinating lives of our local forebears

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. For tickets and more information, visit www.ststephensarmonk.org.
