Support Connection Reschedules Peekskill Home Run Derby
Support Connection, Inc, announced a new date for its second annual Home Run Derby for a Cause. Originally scheduled for today, it has been rescheduled to Friday, Sept. 9 due to inclement weather. If you registered already, you will be kept on the list for Sept. 9. Additional registrations accepted until Sept. 1; space is limited.
Men and women who are 16 years old or older are welcome to participate. Participants pay a $25 donation to participate and will receive a free t-shirt. The player with the most home runs wins first, second and third prize! Participants bring their own aluminum bat and we provide the helmets. Spectators of all ages are welcome to attend for a $5 donation. All proceeds help fund Support Connection’s free support services for people affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
The derby will held at Peekskill Stadium, Louisa Street, Peekskill.
Support Connection is an independent non-profit organization that offers free, confidential breast and ovarian cancer support services.
The second annual Home Run Derby for a Cause is the kickoff of to the Support Connection’s 17 annual Support-A-Walk for breast and ovarian cancer awareness. The Support-A-Walk scheduled for Sunday, October 2, at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights, is a 3- mile walkathon held each year to increase awareness about breast and ovarian cancer. Proceeds from this Home Run Derby and Support-A-Walk directly fund Support Connection.
