Business Profile: Plush Salon, White Plains
Kristy and Anthony Fidanza, the attractive married couple and talented team that brought silky blowouts to new heights in mid-Westchester County, has moved their salon to 33 South Broadway in White Plains.
Offering valet parking for customers who pull up on Mitchel Place, the new salon pops with black and white décor and looks out onto the Westchester mall across the street. It has only been two weeks since the move and the salon was a buzz of activity when The White Plains Examiner made a visit.
Kristy, a White Plains native, says she loves the city and is very excited about her growing business here. The former Plush Salon was located at 369 Mamaroneck Avenue. The couple also runs salons in Scarsdale, Rye and Greenwich.
Anthony played football in elementary, middle and high school and started cutting the team’s hair. That’s where he claims it all began. Staying on top of the latest hair trends is Anthony’s specialty. As an artistic passion he always gets a first glimpse of the hottest new styles at the Toni and Guy institute in New York City. Anthony also specializes in Deva Curl concepts, Bio-Ionic thermal relaxers, Coppalla and Keratin treatments.
Kristy traveled the pageant circuit earning Miss Teen Westchester and Third runner up for Miss Teen New York. Years of involvement in the pageant scene gave her a wealthy bank of creative inspiration into both makeup and hair design to draw from. She studied at Redken 5th Avenue Exchange, Toni and Guy, L’Oreal Professional, Wella, Goldwell, Minardi, Christiano Karo, So Cap USA Hair Extension Specialist, and Deva Concepts.
Kristy and Anthony met while working at a local salon and in 2005 opened their own business. Not long ago they developed a line of hair products called Plush Beauty with shampoo, conditioner, styling treatments and a new seaweed hair masque with algae, sea kelp, lavender and orange oils. There are six products in the private line. The salon also uses L’Oreal Elite and Kerastase hair products.
Service prices range from $65 to $120 for shampoo and styling and $70 to $240 for single process color, featuring ammonia-free products, to a full ombre. Hair spa and keratin treatments are also offered, along with wedding and special occasion services. Treat Yourself Tuesday features a $30 blowdry.
To celebrate the opening at the new location a complimentary blowout with a $10 off coupon is offered with any color service. And for the holidays, stylists will offer a $250 value makeover for $99.
