Singin’ in the Rain at Westchester Broadway Theater
The hit musical, Singin’ in the Rain, a singing and dancing extravaganza based on one of the most celebrated and beloved movies of all time, has tapped it way onto Westchester Broadway Theatre’s stage. It is showing through June 12.
Reveling in parody, the musical turns the precarious birth of the “talkies” (and the demise of nearly all silent picture stars during the late 20s) into a light-hearted romantic comedy.
The WBT production stars Jeremy Benton as Don Lockwood, Shannon O’Bryan as Kathy Selden and Cody Williams as Cosmo Brown. Allie Schauer portrays the silent movie star, Lina Lamont, William McCauley is R.F. Simpson, and Mike Singer as Roscoe Dexter. The ensemble features Emily Jan Bender, Lindsey Bliven, Tim Dolan, Andy Geary, Robb Gibbs, Alexa Glover, Con O’Shea-Creal, Courtney Rottenberger, Jonathan Stahl, Karen Webb, Chaz Wolcott and Libby Wood.
The production is directed and choreographed by Richard Stafford who had been at the helm for several WBT productions including Beauty & The Beast and Gypsy. Associate Director/Choreographer is Jonathan Stahl. Set design is by Steven Loftus, costume design by Gail Baldoni, lighting design is by Andrew Gmoser, sound design by Jonathan Hatton and Mark Zuckerman. Properties by Grumpy’s Props, wigs/hair by Gerard Kelly, Production Stage Manager is Victor Lukas and the Assistant Stage Manager is Ron Rogell.
