Home Health Aide Job Training Program Offered Free of Charge
VNA Home Health Services [VNA HHS], a not-for-profit provider of home health aide services in Westchester and Putnam, and member of the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley, is offering free home health aide training classes that may lead to certification and guaranteed employment opportunities for participants that pass all credentialing requirements.
The next series of training classes will be held daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday, Sept. 10 through Friday, Sept. 28 at the VNA HHS Putnam Training Center in Brewster.
There are a total of 10 spots available for these training sessions, which are open to any individual, regardless of their experience, who wishes to become a certified home health aide.
The training program also offers an opportunity for personal care aides to upgrade to a home health aide with a one-week training course.
Certified nurses aides employed in institutional settings also may also enroll in the program for training on techniques specific to home care to become a certified home health aide.
Professionals from the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley, including registered nurses, physical therapists and hospice care specialists, are providing segments of the training.
The training course was approved by the New York State Department of Health in 2008. Since its inception, the training program at VNA HHS has graduated 126 students offering employment opportunities to all graduates.
Students may also qualify for travel reimbursement for the classes.
