$72M Hen Hud Budget Finalized for Voters
The Hendrick Hudson Board of Education approved a $72.1 million budget last week that includes the reduction of three elementary school teachers.
Spending is up 2.15 percent from this year’s budget. Taxes for Cortlandt property owners will rise about one percent, while Peekskill residents will see a 2.93 percent increase. The average homeowner in both municipalities will experience an estimated tax hike of about $60.
The three elementary school positions being eliminated are the result of enrollment decreases.
Also on the May 21 ballot will be a proposition for voters to support the spending of $555,000 for the replacement of school buses and other equipment.
